Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Nutritionists at RIH are registered dietitians, licensed by the State of Rhode Island and registered by the American Dietetic Association. They are trained in all areas of nutrition and they regularly translate diet prescriptions into everyday food choices.

Dietitians offer nutritional counseling for a variety of health conditions, including:

  1. Celiac Sprue
  2. Diabetes
  3. Food Allergies
  4. Gastrointestinal Problems
  5. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
  6. High Cholesterol
  7. Hypertension-High Blood Pressure
  8. Hypoglycemia-Low Blood Sugar
  9. Kidney Disease
  10. Obesity

Nutrition counseling is often covered by insurance, however, patients should check with their insurance provider prior to scheduling their appointment to assure that the service is covered for their diagnosis.

*Attention Medicare Patients- Medicare only covers Nutrition Counseling for renal and diabetes diagnoses.
