The RI Gambling Treatment Program teaches patients how gambling really works. Slots and other electronic gaming machines are designed to get you playing and keep you playing. A hidden process called "virtual reel mapping" can create the illusion of favorable odds and near misses. We use computer educational software to show clients how electronic gaming machines can do this and how outcomes are truly determined.
