The Comprehensive Epilepsy Program treats patients with difficult to control seizures through a team approach using the latest diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available.
Appropriate patients for this program are patients of any age, children as well as adults, who have been tried on at least 3-4 different antiepileptic drugs, "new" and "old", but whose seizures still occur frequently enough to seriously compromise their quality of life.
Available therapies include:
new antiepileptic drugs
ketogenic diet
vagus nerve stimulator
various forms of surgical treatment of epilepsy
The program team works closely with the Epilepsy Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island (EFMARI), the regional chapter of the Epilepsy Foundation of America.
