As one of the first Gamma Knife centers in the United States, the Rhode Island Hospital Gamma Knife Center has brought new hope to many patients throughout the country and the world. Gamma Knife surgery maximizes patient comfort and can be used to treat lesions that before either were inaccessible or were treated unsuccessfully by conventional surgery and/or radiation therapy.
Our specially trained medical staff has been using this lifesaving technology since 1992. Our longstanding relationship with Sweden's Karolinska Institute, which pioneered the use of the Gamma Knife as a treatment, and our partnership with Brown Medical School ensure that we have the most up-to-date treatment methods for our patients.
The Rhode Island Hospital Gamma Knife Center is affiliated with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island, The Miriam and Newport hospitals.
