Ocean State Crohn’s & Colitis Area Registry (OSCCAR)

Are You Eligible?

If you or your child have had a recent diagnosis of Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, and you live in Rhode Island, you may be eligible to join OSCCAR, the Ocean State Crohn’s and Colitis Area Registry, and get detailed, private and personal instruction about these illnesses. At the same time, you can help doctors better understand Crohn’s and colitis, and help others with these conditions, now and in the future.

You are eligible to join if:

  • You have been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis within the past 6 months. Please consider enrolling as soon as possible after receiving your diagnosis (enrollment within 4 weeks is optimal).
  • You live in Rhode Island.

You do not need to have received any medicines or other treatments for your IBD in order to be eligible.

Your participation is voluntary. You will benefit from an opportunity for personal, one-on-one education about IBD at your convenience. In addition, you will receive a reference manual, What You Need to Know about Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, filled with valuable information—at no cost.

Help us to learn more about IBD—Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis—and help yourself by learning more about these illnesses.

Please consider enrolling today: Fill out the enrollment form and have your doctor fax it, or call us at 401-444-4186.

For more information, please call 401-444-4143 or e-mail osccar@lifespan.org.

As a participating study site, Rhode Island Hospital has agreed to host the OSCARR website.
