For patients and families, The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center means privacy and care that's efficient and responsive. With a spacious, organized facility, our staff works in an environment that nurtures their passion for excellence.

The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center is one of the nation's busiest and is the only Level I trauma center in southeastern New England. This is where the region's most critically injured and most ill people come. Our emergency center is 51,000 square feet and is able to serve 110,000 people annually.

The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center includes:

• Patient parking conveniently located beneath the emergency center. A 254-space parking garage, free for patients and their family members who bring them to the center.
• Private areas for families
• A separate ambulance driveway and drop-off and separate fast track and urgent care driveway and drop-off for the public
• Expanded radiology and diagnostic testing areas
• A technologically advanced chest pain center
• A decontamination room with new hazmat tents, capable of accommodating multiple patients exposed to chemical or biological hazards
• 2 triage areas
• 74 treatment spaces
