If your car is parked illegally or is blocking traffic, it may be towed. Parking in hospital fire lanes is prohibited and may result in immediate towing at the discretion of security. The Providence Police will fine any vehicle parked illegally in a handicap space.

Parking Guide
Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital welcomes you. Our 60-acre campus accommodates more than 10,000 vehicles every day. We’ve prepared this guide to help you find your way around our campus.
If you have any questions regarding parking please call the parking information office at 401-444-4013. From within the hospital, please call adult patient services at extension 4-5118 from any bedside phone.

Parking Fees
In order to maintain and improve our public parking lots, we charge modest parking fees.
- Under 15 minutes: Free
- 15 minutes to 2 hours: $4
- 2 to 4 hours: $5
- 4 to 24 hours: $6
Free and Reduced Rate Parking
- Emergency department patients may park free in the parking garage beneath the emergency department. For free parking, be sure to have your parking ticket validated before leaving the emergency department; otherwise you will be charged the appropriate fee.
- Parking is free in all public parking lots for anyone with a state-issued handicapped placard. Please notify the parking attendant if you need assistance.
- Patients who receive medical treatment covered by Medicare or Medicaid may park free. Please show your Medicare or Medicaid card and proof of your hospital appointment to the parking attendant. Proof of appointment may include an appointment card or discharge paper.
- Clergy making patient visits may park free with a courtesy sticker, available at the main information desk.
- Students training at Rhode Island Hospital may park free in their assigned lot.
- Immediate family members of patients may park free in our public lots after two weeks. A $5 fee is required for a parking card to access these lots until the patient is discharged. Please call 401-444-4013 for more information.
- Anyone coming to the hospital regularly for outpatient services can purchase a parking card for $25, which will allow unlimited access to the paid lots for a three-month period. Please call 401-444-4013 for more information.
Lost Tickets
If you lose your ticket, you’ll be required to pay the daily maximum of $6. You will need to show your driver’s license and registration to the parking attendant.
