Charles McDonald, MD

Charles McDonald, MD, is a professor of medical science and chairman of the department of dermatology at the Brown University School of Medicine and is dermatologist-in-chief at Rhode Island Hospital. He was educated at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, the University of Michigan, and was awarded his MD with highest Distinction from the Howard University School of Medicine. McDonald completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Conn. and a residency and fellowship in dermatology and clinical pharmacology/oncology at Yale, New Haven Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

In 1998 and 1999 he served as the national president of the American Cancer Society. His curriculum vitae includes in excess of 100 academic publications as well as text books and monographs. He has been associated with Brown University for more than 30 years, and served as a member of its Faculty Executive Committee and Committee to Establish a Program in Medicine.
