Francis A. Connor, Jr., DDS
Chief, Division of Dentistry & Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Connor received his DDS degree from Georgetown University and completed his residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York. He obtained his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery from new York University Post-Graduate Medical and Dental School. He has been an active member of the staff at Rhode Island Hospital since 1974 and is chief of the division of dentistry & oral and maxillofacial surgery. Connor is a clinical associate professor of surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Shirley A. Spater Freedman, DMD, MPH
Director, Samuels Sinclair Dental Center
Spater received her DMD degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and completed a general practice residency at Tufts University. She completed a geriatric fellowship at Duke University, and in 1995, received her master of public health degree from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her administrative duties, Spater also provides dental services in the clinic. She has been the director of the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center since 1995. Spater is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Christine M. Ramalho, DMD
Director, Joseph S. Sinclair General Practice Residency
Ramalho is the director of the Center's General Practice Residency Program. Ramalho has been at the center since May 2005. She received her DMD degree from Tufts University and completed a general practice residency at Boston city Hospital. Prior to starting at Samuels, Ramalho worked in public health, hospital and private dental settings. In addition to her responsibilities to the GPR program, she also provides dental services at the clinic.
George J. DuPont, III, DDS
Dentist, Samuels Sinclair Dental Center
Dupont, who specializes in pediatric dentistry, has been at Samuels since 1995. He received his DDS degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. After completing his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York, he completed a clinical and research fellowship at the Montefiore Center. Dupont is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Mary Frances O'Brien, DDS, CCHP
Director of Dentistry, Rhode Island Training School
O'Brien received her DDS degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She has an advanced degree as a certified correctional health care professional from the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare and has received a training certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA National Training Institute. O'Brien is the director of the dental program at the Rhode Island Training School and is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Danielle A. Cummings, DMD
Dentist, Samuels Sinclair Dental Center
Cummings received her DMD degree from Boston University. She completed a 2-year general practice residency at the University of Virginia Health System, Department of Dentistry. Her dental interests include treatment of oral cancer patients and management of trauma. Cummings joined the Samuels staff in August 2007.
