Georg Norén, MD, PhD, director and chief of the New England Gamma Knife Center at Rhode Island Hospital, specializes in radiosurgery. He has been doing gamma knife radiosurgery since 1974.

A pioneer in the field of gamma knife radiosurgery, Norén has used this groundbreaking technology to treat a variety of ailments, particularly acoustic neuromas. Other indications for gamma knife treatment include meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, craniopharyngiomas, metastatic brain cancer and arteriovenous malformations.
