Have you or your child recently been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis?

You can help doctors learn more about the impact of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and its treatments on patients’ physical, emotional, and social well-being by enrolling in a voluntary research project. At the same time, you can benefit by receiving private, personalized education about these illnesses.

The study is called the Ocean State Crohn’s & Colitis Area Registry, or OSCCAR, and it is being conducted by Rhode Island Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

In addition to receiving personal, private, and detailed education, at your convenience, you will receive a valuable reference manual—What You Need to Know about Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis—at no cost. You will be also be provided with a $100 honorarium upon completion of your enrollment visit and $50 upon completion of subsequent annual visits.

OSCCAR is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a participating study site, Rhode Island Hospital has agreed to host this website.
