Meet The Staff
Project Manager
- Susan McNamara
Susan McNamara is the research program manager for the Ocean State Clinical Coordinating Center (OSCCC). She received her BS degree from the Catholic University of America and her MS degree from Northeastern University. McNamara has worked in infectious diseases research since 1997. She was project director for numerous National Institutes of Health funded grants including the investigation of HIV and hepatitis C prevention and racial disparities in health care. McNamara has extensive experience in protocol and questionnaire development. Additionally, she is skilled in tracking project timelines, preparing reports for funding agencies, managing several budgets and assisting in the development of new research proposals. She is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
Clinical Research Assistant
- Phinnara Has
Phinnara Has is a clinical research assistant at the OSCCC. Has received his BS degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. While majoring in biology he interned as a clinical and laboratory research assistant in the Adolescent AIDS Program at Rhode Island Hospital, and the Immunology Research Lab at The Miriam Hospital. Prior to joining the OSCCC staff, Has worked as a research assistant in the Adult AIDS Clinical Trials Group (AACTG) at The Miriam Hospital. He is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
Research Nurses
- Susan Brawner
Susan Brawner, RN, is a research nurse at the OSCCC. Brawner has over 30 years of comprehensive intensive care experience in the medical and surgical intensive care settings. She has participated in multiple investigational trials. Most notably, she has been recognized for her participation as a researcher in the cardiac arrhythmia suppression trials and received recognition from the Brown University cardiac physicians group for outstanding performance and timely analysis of critical study data. Brawner is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Ocean State Chapter of AACN, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
- Judith Donnelly
Judith Donnelly, RN, is a research nurse at the OSCCC. Donnelly has been a nurse since 1986, with 14 of those years in an intensive care setting including CCU in New York, burn unit ICU in Texas, and cardiothoracic ICU in Rhode Island. She has been a member of the American Association of Critical Care for 15 years and has successfully completed and maintained her AACN critical care certification as CCRN since 1995. She has a BA from the College of St. Elizabeth in New Jersey and an ADN from Suffolk Community College in New York.
- Jacqueline Robinson
Jacqueline Robinson, RN, is a research nurse at the OSCCC. Robinson has 10 years of nursing experience with six and a half in the critical care setting. Prior to joining the team, Robinson worked as an educator for nurses new to critical care. Robinson has a BA from Boston College and an ADN from the Community College of Rhode Island. She is a member of AACN.
Administrative Assistant
- Gail Murray
Gail Murray is an OSCCC secretary. Since 1987, she has been employed by Rhode Island Hospital. Prior to joining the staff of the OSCCC, Murray gained 17 years of research experience as coordinator of pediatric oncology cooperative group studies. She has been a certified clinical research professional since 1995, as well as a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates.
