Accepting the end of life and letting go of a loved one is often a painful and difficult experience. Being prepared with information about the normal signs of dying may help ease some of the uncertainty and anxiety.
There are many physical, psychological and emotional signs of impending death. An individual may not have all of the following symptoms. We encourage our patients and their families and friends to discuss these symptoms with one another, or ask nurses and physicians about them. Talking through these symptoms may make everyone more comfortable and less anxious.
